Miss Snark's First Victim's Secret Agent Contest
Check out this month's Secret Agent contest, which features an entry from yours truly (I'm #7). Each entry is the first 250 words of a completed manuscript, and the readers are supposed to decide whether they're hooked and would like to read more. It's called the Secret Agent contest because one actual agent is also in the mix; he or she offer constructive criticism, and the ones the agent likes best get to submit sample pages. It's a great idea, and kudos to Authoress for setting it up each month. I hope I win (say that in your head the way Mr. Bean would say it--if he ever talked, that is).

Hi. I don't usually comment on other people's random blogs that I stumble on. I found yours through Miss Snark's First Victim (I lurk there regularly, but haven't submitted anything because nothing's ready) and your blog struck me because I'm a mom and I write, too. It's nice to see someone else out there. I don't know if you feel the same way, but I find that writing and mothering together is a lot harder than I thought it would be! Anyway, good luck with the secret agent contest--I liked your submission.
Thanks for the comment, Jer. It's nice to know that someone out there actually read something I wrote. And I feel exactly the same way about writing and mothering, but since they're both so much a part of who I am, I guess I'll just have to make do. I'm sure you know exactly what I'm talking about.
Love your blog name, by the way:)
I feel the same as Jer and am a mother who writes and entered Snark's First Victim contest today. And got a log number.
This was my second attempt at getting thru.
I also find it difficult-- or challenging I should prefer to say.
Look forward to hearing how You both balance mothering and writing. :)
Karen lee, welcome! Good luck with the contest! Let me know what your post number is, and I'll try to get over there to comment.
