Are You Hooked?

I entered Bonnie's first page in this week's in-house critique session over at Authoress's blog. This story is probably closer to my own truth than any of the other stories I've written, and for the last couple of months, I've been seriously thinking about self-publishing it. If you have a few minutes, I'd love to hear what you think!

You know, self publishing keeps looking better, despite the growing number of self-pubbed titles that maybe shouldn't have been. A lot of the music I really love is indie. The challenge is reaching the right people, but you're probably well-connected enough to give that a good start.

I've been thinking about self-publishing DRIVERS. The big question is: which version? The one I queried? The one I started revising again? The unborn one where I fix all the plot holes and make everything awesome?

Ben, if a writer self-publishes right--puts in all the time, does all the legwork, gives his or her book every opportunity to succeed--I think self-publishing is a really viable option. If you're serious about it, I have a good friend who's done it successfully. I'm sure she'd be willing to share some tips and tricks.
