Second Submission Window Now Open!

Note to all writers planning to try for a slot: You must COPY AND PASTE your blog address from the URL bar when you sign up for "The Writer's Voice." Otherwise, the widget might kick you out.

Also, since the widget is pulling from more than one blog at once, the blogfest numbers won't settle for a few minutes. Please refresh the blog ten or fifteen minutes after the window opens to see what your final number is (and whether you made it in).

Please note that WE’RE ONLY ACCEPTING 100 MORE ENTRIES (STOPPING AT ENTRY #175) IN THE SECOND SUBMISSION WINDOW. We're closing the widget at 175 entries, so if it goes over 175, WE WILL DELETE THE ADDITIONAL ENTRIES and notify those people that they did not make it into the contest. Once you secure your slot in the widget, please check out yesterday's post for specific instructions on how to post your entry and e-mail it to us.

To enter "The Writer's Voice," sign up on the widget below now!

Mister Linky's Magical Widgets -- Easy-Linky widget will appear right here!

Bummer - Mr. Linky didn't ever show up for me! Congrats to everyone else, though, and good luck!

Did that work? Mr. Linky refused to show up for me for a long time too

Aaag! The widget didn't let me sign up for an agonizing 2:45.

Just sent in my URL, hope this worked!;-)

By the time the link showed up, I was number 171.

Oh drat - it did just show up - number 172. Ha! Oh, well!

I made it in! Huzzah! For anyone who's having trouble seeing it, remember to check at the bottom of the list - the window for mine disappeared and reappeared there. Oi.

Took awhile but I got in. Yay!

The widget didn't show up for me, either. Bummer! Good luck to everyone!

I made it! I'm sitting in the hotel lobby at the writer's conference I'm attending. My friend and I left the conference as soon as it was over, realized we wouldn't make it home in time for me to enter, and drove back so I could use the hotel's wi-fi. It was so worth the effort. Thanks again for hosting!

It took forever for it to show up for me, but I lucked out and got #160. Congrats to everyone else!

Ooh, I thought I was too late, but I think I made it, hurrah! Good luck everyone, this will be exciting.

Good luck to those that made it! The widget wouldn't show up, or it was at the bottom the whole time and I didn't realize it. Good thing I can still query whomever I want to, whenever I want! ;) You guys are so nice to have added an extra 25 entries.

Oh, darn Kelly! But way to smile. Thanks, coaches!

Jenn said...

Wow, you ladies are awesome for adding an additional 25 entries! Whew, that was intense! Best of luck to all those who made it in. :)

tbrosz said...

Well, darn. My #171 apparently recalibrated to something higher that didn't make it.

Ah, well, as a veteran of last-second E-bay auctions bidding wars, I understand that sometimes it just comes down to the luck of the digital draw.

I'm so excited to participate in this event.

Stacey Trombley said...

Are the extra 25 going to be deleted? That was my impression, that if you weren't in 150 you'd be out. I'd be super excited if the extra 25 went through but... not getting my hopes up. yet.

tbrosz said...

They took 75 from this morning, and 100 from tonight, for a total of 175.

Stacey Trombley said...

HEY! Just realised it said they were stopping at 175-- which means I actually made it! YAY. (guess I should have read that a little closer. Didn't know it changed.)

No more complaining about the widget!

Leslie said...

I had trouble, too, at first. I guess if you hit the keyboard hard enough, widgets appear? I don't know. But I'm super excited to be in this contest.

Odd -- I was in, and linked to my blog from my name, and then when I went back to the contest page I was nowhere to be found. Anyone else encounter this?

I was just like the rest of you. Refreshing every ten seconds. I even had all four blogs in separate tabs. I was counting down and then about died when the widget wasn't showing. I was over here cursing & throwing objects at the walls as the seconds slipped by me. Then, out of no where, I clicked the comments to see if other people were having the same trouble and the widget magically showed up. At that point I frantically typed my info in, laughing to myself and somehow I secured the #165 entry. After reading the morning contestants comments, I for sure thought there was a thirty second window before the entries booked up. I can't believe I made it in. Add me people. Let's network. Good luck to all!

@Random Andrews, Yeah, I had EXACTLY the same issue, but luck was with us I guess. Good luck to everyone who made it through, and my condolences to those who didn't, the linky had some strangeness.

James--same here!

Hi, all. Long day. I'm so, so sorry about what happened. You'll get the long version first thing tomorrow morning, but for now, just know that we're adding a third submission window to let 25 more entries into the contest. Look for that explanation post to go up at 8:00 a.m. EDT, with the third submission window opening at 12:00 noon EDT.

Best of luck, and thank you for your patience and understanding!

Matthew MacNish said...

Congrats to all who made it in, and thanks to all our amazing hosts who are putting in the extra effort!

Stacey Trombley said...

I sent in the email (last night)but didn't get the automated response. Should I resend?

Krista Van Dolzer said...

Stacey, I found you! Your entry made it to us. I suspect what happened is that you initially landed in the spam folder and then one of us manually transferred you to the inbox. The automated response doesn't always send in that case.

Best of luck!

Stacey Trombley said...

Okay. Thank you!
