The End

Not a very auspicious title for a new blog post, is it? That said, I'm afraid it's true. This will be my final blog post on www.kristavandolzer.blogspot.com for reasons I'll outline below, so I may wax nostalgic--sigh--for a handful of paragraphs.

When I started this blog almost sixteen(!) years ago, I had a few specific goals: find a critique partner or two with whom I could trade manuscripts, start building a platform, and generally connect with the online writing community. I did all those things and more. I found multiple critique partners I email to this day (though not as regularly as I used to), I built a decent following, and I crossed paths with all of you. Whether you've been here for ten years or found this blog, like, yesterday, I really can't thank you enough. You celebrated my successes, entered all my query contests, and lifted me when I was low, and it's meant everything to me.

But over time, this blog has become less functional. Links have broken--widgets, too--and I've basically lost control of my pages at this point. I could fix all this, of course, but it would probably require outside intervention (money), and anyway, I've reached a crossroads. (Slightly more on that below...) If there's ever been a time to retire this blog, it's right now.

That said, I'll leave it up, unedited, for reference purposes--and, well, because it represents more than a quarter of my life. Also, I'm not really leaving; I'm just migrating to WordPress:  www.kristavandolzer.wordpress.com. I've got a decent bit of news--you'll have to hop over to see--and I do hope that you'll stick with me as I embark on the next chapter of my book-biz odyssey.

So thank you all, again, for reading, commenting, and boosting. I do hope our paths keep crossing now and into the future.
