So thrilled to announce that my friend and critique partner, Liesl Shurtliff, just sold her MG fantasy RUMP, a delightful retelling of Rumpelstiltskin from poor Rumpelstiltskin's perspective, to Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Random House!
Check out Liesl's announcement, and while you're over there, you'd better follow her blog. Not only is she a wonderful writer, but she has a good head on her shoulders and a lot of thoughtful insights to share. That was how I first discovered her--every comment she left on someone else's blog was interesting and spot-on, and I knew I wanted her to read my manuscripts someday. Turns out, I was right:)
Congratulations again, Liesl! Can't wait to hear more about how the story unfolds from here.
Yeah, I don't know why I wasn't following her already. RUMP sounds like a wonderful book, especially if it's got your fingerprints on it.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! How cool to be included on an acknowledgements page! The book sounds adorable :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome. What an honor!
ReplyDeleteGosh Krista, I'm practically crying. I think your announcement was better than my own! You're the best and I better be in YOUR acknowledgments pages some day, both Bob and Steve! And Sam and Betty and Sally and Victor...
ReplyDeleteHUGS!
Wow that's so cool! That must feel awesome!
ReplyDeleteBen, RUMP is a wonderful book. (But it was a wonderful book before I had anything to do with it:) )
ReplyDeleteJess #1, it took about five minutes for that realization to sink in. Then I grabbed Honey Bear's arms and screeched, "Honey, do you know what this means? I'M GONNA BE IN AN ACKNOWLEDGMENTS PAGE!"
It is awesome, E.R., especially for Liesl. She's a wonderful writer, and she deserves it.
Oh, Liesl, you're so sweet. And never fear - you will definitely be in my acknowledgments page, if I ever get there...
Jess #2, it does feel pretty cool:) Thanks for dropping by!
AWESOME!! What a great title--sounds so fun! Thanks for sharing. I will definitely swing by Liesl's page.
ReplyDeleteIt's so encouraging to hear these good-news stories. Her books sounds awesome! Congratulations, Liesl! (And Krista, too, because none of us would be anywhere without our great critique partners, right?;))
ReplyDeleteAmy
Very cool! Congrats to your friend!
ReplyDeleteBethany, it's the perfect title. Fits the tone of the book so well. I'm glad it stuck:)
ReplyDeleteAmy, good critique partners are EVERYTHING. They make so much difference. I'm so glad I found all of you. I'll never go back:)
Thanks, Mary! I'm sure Liesl appreciates everyone's well wishes.
