Check out the Drop the Needle critique session Authoress is hosting over the next few days (including a few lines from Bob--he's #11). These submissions are 250 words that represent danger in some way, and critiques should focus on the tension and pacing--and of course, whether (or not) you want to read more.
Definitely head over there and share a comment or two. Or ten or twenty. Every comment will be helpful; I know I'll be looking for all the feedback I can get. And if you're a regular reader of mine, don't feel like you have to sugar-coat anything you might say about Bob. He's pretty tough--and we both know that any criticism you have you only share out of love:)
I'd love to read more, when you are to the point where you need a reader. I have a BA in English, and I attended the Writing For Young Readers conference at BYU in 2005. That way, I can ask you to return the favor ;) And really, we should do lunch sometime (after the holiday madness) anyway. It would be fun!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'd love to have you read more, Myrna...when I finish a draft that's suitable for anybody's eyes but mine:) And I'd love to read your novel when you're ready. And lunch sounds fantastic, too. Wow, you're just a wealth of good ideas today!
ReplyDelete(BYU has a Writing for Young Readers Conference? Oh. My. Gosh. Now I know what I want for Christmas...)
Yes! I wrote the name wrong though. Here's the website:

Did you go to BYU? Or do you just like their football team?
Both:)
